In Aftermath, the balance between comic and serious is sustained. I enjoyed this one. Loved the pacing of this follow up book. Again, this book isn’t as action packed as the first, no killers other than a rampant bull, the violence is limited to a food fight between two older women dressed to the nines definitely the funniest scene in the book! Much more relaxed storytelling. The dialogue and the humour in Jericho mcmxn Aftermath are clever, educational quite, full of meaning and emotions, they are quite long compared with others but still wanted more.
For the academics and fanfiction nerds among us, Aftermath provides an absolutely delicious riff on the genre: This is such a fun romance and a true afgermath that had me laughing as much as crying throughout the book.
