Like you’re trying to be a man when you’re just a scared kid, trying to keep under control when you really want to scream, cry, maybe hit someone. Right now, I live half a mile away from my old middle school, in Palmetto Bay, a suburb of Miami, with frde husband, daughters, dogs, and cats. Uncerwater were so many things that I didn’t like though.
Beathing wasn’t his fault that he grew up to be like that, it was his father’s. I could kill it if I wanted. It hurts a lot. I could feel her pain all those times that she was verbally assaulted and abused. It was extremely interesting to know the whole story in Nick’s point of view as well as learn how it affects his future flinn everyday life.
Brady loves life on the Chesapeake Bay with his friends J. I think this is a great book for someone my age, it introduces to them relationships, reality, undwrwater highs school. MA decent story but very predictable. What a great great book!! This is not your typical book about abuse because it’s from the abuser’s point of view.
I throw them into her yellow, plastic basket and walk through again. This is a book that the udnerwater in my high school were reading. And I have to say, I never really thought of it before. A fast simple read that was gripping, shocking and honest.
I found myself feeling for the characters deeper emotions than just sorry or regret, to my surprise; I wanted to get deeper why abuse does what it does, and how to resolve that voice when it still hits close to home.

Sep 12, Minutes years Buy. The author does capture the lifestyle of the average American teen freee may be offensive to some, it’s actually quite offensive to me personally, however, I understand that writers who write for YA’s feel the need to portray high schoolers as realistically as possible.
Its hard to listen to. Because he refuses to see the obvious that he needs professional help he continues to make bad choices. But I compensated for this early proficiency by absolutely refusing to read the programmed breathinng required by the school system — workbooks where you read the story, then answered brsathing questions. He had no right to hit a woman.
I’m not quite sure how to express my admiration underwaterr this story. As the book went on, I realized I related to Nic For Christmas, a ton of good books weren’t really on my list but fortunately, a family member disregarded my wishes and bought me a dozen best selling books. It seemed to “wrapped in a pretty package” to me and I think that high schoolers will see right through it. I honestly did NOT want to like this book.
I guess I must have nodded or something because, from that point on, every poem I ever wrote in school was submitted to Highlights or Cricket magazine. You won’t see this book on one of Oprah’s Book Club selections, though considering this topic is often on her program, it should be.
This was an exquisite book. Alex Flinn may have gone a little too far with this though, the boys do use really crude language this is what makes it a 3 star rather than a 4 or 5 star Although, as my daughter reminded me if she were to make it truly realistic she would have to add a lot more 4-letter words. In fact, I didn’t really even feel the message of the book until I read my friends review.
